Legal Fees
Puckett & Faraj, PC Legal Fees and Process
Puckett & Faraj, PC, provides high quality legal advice and services throughout the military criminal process or the federal administrative and courts process. Our firm provides a consultation to understand the charges or investigation and to gain information to provide an estimate of fees. Legal services fees for military or federal cases are assessed and determined based on an evaluation of the case complexity, level of effort and duration of the litigation. The severity of the charges and the individual circumstances are also considered. In most military cases, a flat fee plus expenses will be charged. Other cases may be charged on an hourly fee-plus-expenses basis, with a reasonable retainer required with the signed contract. If the retainer is depleted, the client will be responsible to remit additional funds to continue the work.
All fee retainers are due upon signing the fee agreement. Legal representation begins after the receipt of the signed contract and retainer. Follow-on work, such as appeals, clemency packages and military boards of corrections or boards of inquiries, will be pursuant to follow-on contracts with the client.
Military Criminal Cases
Puckett & Faraj, PC, works military criminal cases and involuntary separation cases (including show-cause or boards of inquiry hearings) on a flat fee-plus-expenses basis. Fees will be determined based on an evaluation of the case complexity, level of effort, probable duration of the litigation, severity of the charges and consideration of the service member’s individual circumstances. This individual military criminal case by case pricing supports Puckett & Faraj’s stated goal of providing equal representation to all military members. The entire retainer for the case and a signed contract is required prior to commencing legal representation.
Military administrative cases, including corrections of military records, medical boards and appeals may be billed on a flat fee or an hourly rate-plus-expenses basis. Fees for military administrative cases require a retainer in advance covering an estimate of the hours required to complete the legal process. This estimate will include any attorney, legal investigator, paralegal, or expert services required to prepare the case. The entire retainer for the case and a signed contract is required prior to legal representation.
Federal Criminal Cases
Puckett & Faraj, PC charges a flat fee plus expenses for Federal criminal cases, similar to the fee structure for military criminal and administrative cases. Representation begins when the retainer for the full amount is received along with a signed contract
